Quality above all has been the Callipo Tuna mission since founded in Pizzo, in 1913. Callipo Conserve Alimentari was the first in Calabria, and among the first in Italy to preserve, can and distribute Mediterranean Yellowfin tuna.The exclusively Yellowfin Tuna is responsibly harvested in accordance with the protection of the habitat of the sea. Callipo Tuna is selected from tender and lean whole tuna, which is steam cooked and packed by hand. Most of the company's product is distributed within Italy, with only 8% exported globally. Solid Light Tuna either packed in olive oil or in water is packaged in 7oz glass jars to preserve the rich flavored flesh. An excellent source of protein, and rich in heart healthy Omega-3, the beautiful, flaky portions of fish are ideal for sandwiches, salads, or a quick pasta puttanesca.
